A stay at Ballachallan, enjoying Nigel and Kirsty's unique blend of hospitality, makes for a wonderful break or stopover.Ballachallan House is a traditional, stone harled white farm house built in the eighteenth century when it was a refuge inspiring Sir Walter Scott, one of Scotland's most famous writers, on his visits to the Trossachs. Today we pride ourselves on providing a highly professional yet totally relaxing experience for the enjoyment of many discerning visitors from all around the world.

The Golden Room (left) is at the front of the house, as are all the bedrooms, and has views out over fields and trees. The room is decorated in shades of cream, gold and wine and has a king size bed.

The Green Room

This restful room, decorated predominantly in shades of green, with its magnificently carved fireplace, is said to be where Sir Walter Scott wrote the first draft of his poem about the Trossachs area, The Lady of the Lake, when he stayed at Ballachallan.

The Yellow Room
The yellow room, which is not photographed, has a splendid black and rust fireplace and is known as Buttercup!

It has its own private bathroom at the opposite side of the landing and is a quiet spacious room.

Extra beds are available for all rooms to adapt to twin or family requirements.
